Manager, Foundation Operations
Years working in philanthropy or a related field: 5
Years with IP: I’m new to the team in 2019!
What I bring to IP: I joined the Intentional Philanthropy team following more than four years at The Clowes Fund in Indiana where I was the resident grants-management guru. After a year spent teaching English in China, I returned to Indiana where I received a B.A. from Indiana University-Purdue University in 2014 and an M.A. from the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy in 2016. For me, work is the most rewarding when I can create a thoughtfully efficient system for managing projects and making a difference. I enjoy equipping and empowering others to determine their own success and love witnessing others have those “ah ha!” moments. In addition, I enjoy researching and developing new ideas.
What I love most about my work: I love taking the big picture and turning it into actionable steps to meet the vision or goal set. I’m excited about partnering with clients to build grantmaking strategies and processes that they’re proud of and that make a meaningful difference. I also love finding creative ways to provide a thoughtful and customized experience for my clients.
What I am most excited about learning right now: I look forward to learning about our clients and how I can support them in doing their best work!
What I do in a typical week: I’m still learning my new day-to-day since joining the team in early 2019, but I’m excited about rolling up my sleeves to do whatever it takes to empower clients to effect positive social change.
What I do when I’m not working: When I’m not in the office, you will likely find me volunteering as a youth mentor or with local refugee groups. You may find me immersed in physical activities ranging from boxing and salsa dancing to general outdoors adventuring, or simply enjoying time with my husband Caleb, friends and family.
